Joshy Washy hasn’t always worn extra-large shoes or painted exclamation marks on his face, but ask anyone who knows him and they’ll tell you he was born to be a clown. Although he always had a passion for spreading joy and a background in acrobatics , it wasn’t until he and his partner welcomed their first baby and moved to Bristol that he finally put down the tools of his former trade and picked up a red nose. Becoming a parent himself gave Joshy a whole new appreciation for children’s entertainment: the importance of trust, warmth, and creating magical moments that feel safe, inclusive, and unforgettable. Plus the perfect audience to workshop new material with.

 

Joshy Washy has always adored children and feels incredibly lucky that his job is to make them laugh. He’s confident that every child at a Joshy Washy party will leave having learned at least one new trick they can feel proud of, while also feeling respected, included, and truly heard.

Joshy partner Leonie is an accomplished circus performer and midwife who comes from a proud circus family. Alongside her brother Lucas Jet and their Dad, Peteza the Clown, Joshy Washy helps run the family business, Bigtopmania. This keeps him busy producing shows and hiring and installing beautiful circus-style marquees. it also allowed him to gain a lot of experience as a clown. Learning from others and developing his own silly antics.

 

Today, Joshy Washy spreads hysterical laughter and pure joy wherever he goes. His shows are lively, colourful, and packed with interactive fun that keeps children laughing, joining in, and feeling like part of the magic. At the same time, he creates a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where grown-ups know their children are in safe hands, allowing them to sit back, enjoy the show, and laugh along too. Despite the look of chaotic fun caused by Joshy Washy, he is actually well known for his professionalism, punctuality and ability to adapted and problem solve. He is always willing to put the needs of the client as his top priority.
